Painting in the Marina Baja

SUE WHITMORE is a much exhibited artist, theatre designer and poet and an accomplished and experienced teacher and mentor. This painting week is designed to appeal to participants with a broad range of experience. Sue Whitmore will be on hand to help and respond with analysis and support to suit all needs. Core elements: *A huge range of exciting subjects *A daily review guided by the mentor but with contributions from all participants * Painting and drawing in all mediums with ample technical advice In addition, for those who wish, there will be some guided walks into the dramatic mountain scenery of the Aitana range of mountains with their spectacular wild flowera, birdlife and landscape. The price of the course is all inclusive save travel costs to Alicante airport or RENFE railway station, where we will meet you n the course opening day(between 10-00 and 17.00 hrs arrival times) and return you at the close. Accommodation is in private single rooms with most accessing a private shower room. Cuisine is Mediterranean comprising buffet breakfast and lunch and a three course communal evening meal. A daily vegetarian option is available and wine is served with meals. We recommend you take out cancellation and conventional health insurance and all visitors are wise to bring an E111 card. Painting in a Spanish Village

Mentor: Andy Walker

Andy Walker returns to the Almassera - COME AND ENJOY a week painting with him in the stunning mountainous landscape around the village of Relleu in the Alicante region of Spain. Relleu is an unspoilt mountain village, surrounded by olive and almond groves. Our accomodation is the Almassera Vella, a lovely village house built on the site of Relleu’s original olive press (the remains of which are still in situ in the living room!) There is plenty to paint from the gardens of the house itself, from the terraces of olive and orange groves that it overlooks, and in the nearby village. Each day we’ll go out to paint and techniques will be demonstrated along with individual instruction to help you improve your painting skills. ANDY WALKER has drawn and painted for much of his life, and turned professional in 2001. He began by hand painting ceramic wall murals to commission, and then moved on to teach watercolour painting in his home town of Keswick. In the last three years Andy has written and published two online art courses, and now also organises and leads painting holidays in the UK, France and here in Spain. He believes strongly that anyone can learn to paint, given the right techniques and encouragement.
