The limestone Marina Baja mountains around Relleu offer a variety of thrilling mountain trails so we have added walking as one of the core activities at the Almàssera.

Walking in the Marina Baja Sierras

This walking week will include easy low level walks in the morning with the possibility of extending / adding another walk for those of you wishing to attempt something more challenging. There are walks in the dramatic sierras of the Marina Baja and a spectacular walk along the coastal cliffs overlooking the sea. WE WILL ALSO cater for individual interests by organising lengthy stops for people to enjoy the stunning mountain landscapes around Relleu for their own purposes, i.e. botanising, painting, writing, photography etc. A day at the beach on Wednesday, the free day, can be arranged, a visit to the Aitana Safari and/or a paella on the terrace at Bar Maria’s in the neighbouring village of Sella. GILL ROUND is a highly experienced and accomplished walker who has recently published ‘Costa Blanca 50 Walks’ a Rother Walking Guide (ISBN 978-3-7633-4837-4). For many years she has lived in Sella – deep in the Aitana sierras with her partner the mountaineer and poet Terry Gifford. She has a deep knowledge of the Alicante mountains and the opportunities there for walkers.
