Other months' editorials are accessible via the site map:

I think that's all I need to tell you about this month's site, though of course all the regular features are there as usual. And, of course, I hope you'll let me have some more contributions for next month. Don't forget to check out the guidelines page for full details of what we'd like you to send us.

With all best wishes for 2001...

Well, we may be a little late, but "Happy New Year" all the same.

I must apologise for the delay in the January edition of Patchword, but we have been in the throes of moving office. This is wonderful as it means I finally have a separate writing space all to myself, but the last couple of weeks have been horrendous. I don't think anyone with any sense would choose to move during the holiday period when shops are closed when you want them and friends and family expect you to be free for all sorts of fun activities. Not to mention the dreadful weather we've had - and decorating when it's wet and miserable and the paint won't dry is no fun. Nor is moving computers up to a fifth floor without a lift, but that's another story, and as a friend used to say "all part of life's rich tapestry".

But here we are at last, more or less organised, and ready to face the New Year with enthusiasm. I hope you feel the same way.

We've got a lot of new poems in the anthology this month, including several from new contributors from as far away as Australia and Israel, and a couple of book recommendations from Singapore. I'm thrilled to see that Patchword is reaching out to such a widespread audience, although really that's exactly what being an internet publication is all about.
