Hello and welcome to the July edition of Patchword.

I can hardly believe how quickly this last year has passed. We officially went public in August last year, so it's not quite time to start celebrating, but, for me, the Patchword website has been a reality for over a year.

And now we're planning big changes.

Over the next couple of months we're going to be working on a new version of the site. We intend to include some additional sections, including one for non-fiction and essays. These can be on any subject and as serious or light-hearted as the writer chooses; the ones that I have collected so far are tending to the lighter side.

Another thing that we want to include is writing for children. So we're looking for book reviews, excerpts, poetry etc for younger readers, please.

Although I'm still not intending to include fiction, I am going to have an "editor's choice" page, so if I find something exceptional, I shall be able to include it even if it doesn't fit into the standard Patchword plan.

And of course we will continue to publish articles about writing and poetry and animated poems (there's a new one this month) and humour and competition information and book recommendations, and quizzes and quotes and...
