Hello and welcome to the November 2001 edition of Patchword.

The first thing I want to do is apologise to all those of you who tried to connect to Patchword on the 25th and 26th of October and were unable to do so. It does depend a bit on where you are as to how long the site was unavailable, but wherever you are, and however short a time was involved, I've no doubt it was frustrating. (It certainly was for us here at Patchword!)

The problem was, of course, due to the transferral of Patchword to a different hosting company. Things got a little out of sync, I'm afraid.

Those problems are now ironed out, and we are working hard to transfer the current content onto the new databases so that the new version can be on-line as soon as possible.

One new section that I am hoping to add to the anthology is that of translations into English. These can either be from your own foreign language originals, or from other poets' works. However, if they are contemporary poets, do please be careful to obtain permission.

I'd also like to include a list of writer's circles, so if you'd like your group's details to appear, please let me know.

And don't forget to keep us informed of your competitions for our diary page.
